Serial casting routine

IMG_1448.jpeg

Want to hear about our weekly casting routine?

Sunday: remove cast after dinner + run around + play.
Monday: keep running and playing so you use your muscles that have been resting/stretching for a week. Return to PT to get measured and get new casts set at a new angle. Come home and rest and remain inactive for the rest of the day. Go to sleep.
Tuesday-Sunday: move play do regular life stuff
Repeat

This week looked a little different and required more sitting than Eli would have liked because his right cast collapsed, but he is so resilient. I forget how brave my kids are until I walk with them through procedures like this. It’s uncomfortable, itchy, a new skill for his brain and tiring, yet he goes on and pushes through because he knows it’s for his good.

If only I chose to keep that perspective in the difficult parts of my life...right?

If you’re a mama who is walking with your child through any procedure, I know it can feel so heavy, overwhelming and confusing at times; I see you and I understand.

Remember that you are not alone. You have a Savior who is able to sympathize with you and loves you deeply
