Book Review: Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes

Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes by Jonathan Auxier

Now, bear in mind as you start to read this review that this is not a complete book review, but rather an urging for you to give this book a read ASAP. We are 5 chapters in to this book in about 4 bedtime reading sessions and we are hooked. ALL 6 of us are hooked and that is a HARD thing to do in a large family!

The way that Jonathan Auxier writes is captivating, engaging and very visual. It’s just enough different from other authors we’ve read to engage our brains + make us not want to put the book down. We’ve even been heading up to bed a little early so we can read more!

We are a reading family, books are just a normal part of our day and we read a variety of genres. For the last few years most of our bedtime family reading has been picture books or something from the “who was/what was” series, but I have to say that I am really enjoying this shift towards chapter books. I think this will become a treasured memory in our home and our kid’s childhood.

Read a bit about the book here from Sarah Mackenzie from Read Aloud Revival and listen to the author,Jonathan Auxier, on the Read Aloud Revival Podcast here.

If you don’t own it you can purchase it on Amazon, Thrift Books or request it from your local library.
