Amber's Alfredo Sauce Recipe
A few years ago I came up with my own Alfredo sauce recipe that is simple to make and a hit with those who you are feeding it to. :) Our family has to avoid most store bought sauces as they will trigger migraines for Steve who is allergic to MSG and natural flavors. So I’ve learned how to make a lot of items from scratch over the years. Ok, enough talking…time for the recipe!
Amber’s Alfredo Sauce Recipe
1 1/3 C raw milk
3T salted butter
3 T flour
2 tsp minced garlic
2 T dried Parsley
1-2 tsp Salt (depending on your desired saltiness level)
1 C shredded parmesan cheese
Make a white sauce by combining the butter, milk and flour in a medium sized sauce pan over medium heat, stir with a whisk until thickened. Reduce heat.
Add the remaining ingredients to the white sauce and stir with a spoon or spatula until cheese is melted.
Pour over cooked linguine, stir and enjoy!
a note on OUR FAVORITE INGREDIENTS
RAW MILK: The flavor and creaminess of raw milk is unmatched, so if you have raw milk at a farm near you, try it out!
RAW MILK PARMESAN CHEESE: I was very pleased to find this shredded cheese at Trader Joe’s. We use it in this sauce but also in other meals we rotate through. It freezes well if you don’t live close to a Trader Joe’s store
SALT: Himalayan pink salt is loaded with beneficial minerals; we use it in baking, cooking and on the table
BUTTER: we love Kate’s Butter from here in Maine and the Truly brand, both are from grass fed cows.
